Aulus Vitellius, Roman Emperor, (c1590-1629). Vitellius (15-69) was emperor in 69 AD, the 'Year of the Four Emperors'. His reign lasted from 17th April until 22nd December. He was murdered by the soldiers of Vespasian, who had been proclaimed emperor by the armies of the eastern provinces of the empire.
