NEPAL / TIBET - 06 Jan 2011 - This image taken from the International Space Station shows the glaciers around the north western side of Mount Everest - which straddles the border between Chinese-controlled Tibet and Nepal. The top of the image is north and shows the two Tibetan galciers of Rongbuk West and Rongbuk East. The Everest Ice Fall and the Khumbu Glacier are visible along with the West Shoulder of Mount Everest on the left of the image. Rising temperatures as a result of global warming are rapidly melting these glaciers - which could have a devastating impace on South Asian nations like India and Nepal in the coming decades - Photo: Geopix/NASA
