Demonstration by citizenry on Newcastle’s town moor, October 11, 1819 protesting the Peterloo massacre which had taken place in Manchester two months earlier on August 16 and whose demands included political reform. The massacre and the many subsequent protests which took place around the country lead to the Great Reform Act of 1832. After a work by Archibald Dick.
