The practical value of thismethod, both as an aid to the beginner and as an easy and accurate meansfor preserving records, has been widely recognized, and numerous symbolshave been devised to represent graphically the various physical suggested by Wyllie, of Edinburgh, and by Sahli, of Bern, areamong the best.
