Mention The Rerlew ^h«n yon wrlf. included the Michell gold medal for Killarney Brilliant. P. H. Harjes, who has been in Ger- many atoiost since the breaking out of the war in the interest of H. Bayers- dorfer & Co., arrived in New York March 21, bringing with him heavy shipments of supplies for his firm, an achievement that clearly has cost heav- ily in work and worry, for Mr. Harjes has lost weight. August Gontram, of Holmesburg, captured six prizes, five first and one second, with six magnificent vases of sweet peas at the New York flower show March 18. We are proud of Mr. Gontram. The delegation from hereabouts to the Boston rose show last week includ- ed George E. Campbell, Malcolm Frank- lin, Joseph Heacock, James W. Heacock, Robert Jamison, Joseph* S. Myers, Sam- uel S. Pennock, Martin Samtman and Clarence Upton. A number of them visited the places of Robert Simpson, Clifton, N. J., the Waban Rose Con- servatories, Natick, Mass., and the Budlong & Son Co., Auburn, R. I., and of course the New York flower show. The M. Rice Co. has been working every night for a long time, and even on Sunday, to get its orders out. Robert Q. Shoch is home, looking glori- ously well. The employees of the Henry F. Mich- ell Co., some thirty in number, attended the service at the Tabernacle March 19, to hear the Rev. Billy Sunday. Recent visitors include E. H. Smith, of Carlisle, Pa., and George H. Berke, of Atlantic City. George S. Faulkner has arranged a telling window at the Orchid Flower Shop. Calla lilies occupy the place of honor.
