On March 16, 2020, the UK Government called for drastic action to halt the spread of coronavirus and advised public buildings, including theatres, to close and mass gatherings to stop. #WeMakeEvents is an international movement to highlight that the live events sector needs support from local governments to survive the Covid-19 crisis. The focus is to get Government initiatives to help the industry back to work while providing support until it can fully return to work
