Forty-third Ohio Iderail Volunteer Infantry. Colonel Hinchman S. Prophet is one of the notable men of the cinof Lima. He has been closely identified with its development ami interestsfor the past thirty-seven years, coming to the city, then a town of forty-fivehundred people, in April, 1872. During these years he has served the county, the city, the church, andthe schools, in various ways, faithfully and well. Mr. Prophet is a lawyerby profession, and is the dean of the Allen County Bar, having been admit-ted February 2, 1860, in the supreme court of Ohio, 49 years ago. On being admitted, he immediately commenced the practice of his pro-fession as partner of the late Judge J. A. Beebe, under whom he had finishedhis course of study.
