Mars Express perspective view of the heavily eroded eastern rim (down left) of the large impact crater Huygens on Mars. North is at top. Several smaller impact craters are also seen. Dendritic (branching) erosion features (the darker lines, upper centre and far right) show past erosion due to surface water. Darker material has been deposited in the eroded valleys. The area seen here is over 100 kilometres across. Data from the High Resolution Stereo Camera. Mars Express has been orbiting Mars since December 2003.
