The large bear-ing which fits over the wheel shaft was also built upwhere it had worn. Both bearings were then reboredto their original dimensions, as shown in anotherillustration. For reboring, a discarded planer was pressed intoservice. The motor was fastened to supports whichrested on the sliding bed of the planer. Both bearingswere bored at the same time by two boring bars, whichwere geared to a motor on top of the planer. These barswere held securely and guided correctly by two heavypillar blocks which were doweled and bolted to theframe of the planer.
