Section of The Theatre at Sabratha Libya

Sabratha is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a good example of Roman architectural excess. Sabratha remains one of the world's great sites of antiquity. Situated 69km west of Tripoli it is an easy day trip from the Libyan capital. Hitherto largely devoid of visitors but with the lifting of sanctions against the Gaddafi regime Western tourists are beginning to visit in greater numbers.
