The ruin of Gurre Castle, a Royal castle from the 12th century in North Zealand near Elsinore in Denmark from the early medieval times. Four towers and a perimeter wall were added in the 1350s, The castle was a favourite place of King Valdemar Atterdag (IV), and he died here 24th October 1375. The ruin was excavated in the 19th century.
