Iceboats Nos. 1, 2, and 3 were furnished without costto the Committee; accommodating in all about 5000 persons. The large number of visitors (estimated at 500,000) to ourcity during the Encampment were transported to and fromthe city over the different railroads having their terminalsin Philadelphia with their usual promptness and despatch,and without a single complaint of any of the visitors to thisCommittee. The success of the Encampment was apparent to all, andthe one great desire of the visitors was to compliment theGeneral Committee upon their efforts made in this respect. JNO. M. Of this numberthere were upwards of 800 lirovided with free quarters. During their stay in the city there was provided for theirentertainment a musical and literary programme almostnightly by the several colored churches of the city, promi-nent among which were the Bethel A. M. E., Allen A. M. , Wesley A. M. E., and Shiloh Baptist Churches. In groups the visiting Comrades were shown the manypoints of interest about the city by various members of theCommittee, who kindly volunteered their services for thatpurpose.
