GLORIANA WON THE RACE. FIVE FORTY-SIX FOOTERS MATCHED IN THE ATLANTIC YACHT CLUB RACE -- PRIZES FOR THE TIGRESS AND SMUGGLER OF THE SMALLER BOATS. The Atlantic Yacht Club had almost as many starters yesterday in its special race, originally intended for forty-six footers only, as it had in its annual regatta. The race was arranged for a four-hundred-dollar cup offered to the new class by Vice Commodore David Banks. Since last Tuesday, however, Kenyon offered a cup for the thirty-five footers, and then Commodore Lawton came forward with an offer of a cup for the twenty-five footers Gravesend is a town in northwest Kent, England, on the south bank of the Thames, opposite Tilbury in Essex. It is the administrative town of the Borough of Gravesham and, because of its geographical position, has always had an important role to play in the history and communications of this part of England. It still retains today a strong link with the river. The opening of the Eurostar railway station at Ebbsfleet, and the fact that it lies with the Thames Gateway, add to the town's importance.
