Thelarge. strong - smelling black squash bug can be kept in check by hand- picking, going over the vines at frequent inter- vals. For yellow- striped beetle and blight, spray early and repeat- edly with Bor- deaux Arsenate of Lead Mixture. A well-known and stand ard variety. Grows from 18 inches to two feet in length. The shell is hard and warted and of an attractive bright yellow color. The thick flesh is of good qualitv. Pkt., 5c; oz., 15c; *4 lb., 40c Fall and Winter Varieties Hubbard. A favorite winter squash. Shell dark green and extremely hard. Flesh rich orange; dry and sweet. Splendid for cooking or pies.
