LANCASTER "ARIES" - On 26th May 1945 the modified Lancaster "ARIES" returned to its base at Shawbury, Salop, after a series of flights over the geographic and magnetic North Poles. The flights were planned by the Empire Air Navigation School at Shawbury and the captain of "ARIES" was Wing Commander McKinley, DFC.,AFC.
