India The Dravidians are a native race of south India seen here transplanting rice. Transplanting rice may keep these bodies supple but it can be back-breaking work. With incredible skill and speed the women transplant the shoots that have grown to a height 1-2 ft tall. To keep the plots under water they have mud walls around them. Nowadays they can produce three crops per year from the land.
