The Senate Banking and Currency Committee today defeated a bill by Senator Carter Glass, Virginia, to discontinue the RFC after Jan. 15, 1941 and instead extended the date to June 30, 1941, in order that the bureau would not cease to exist six days before the 1941 Inaugural.
