The accompanying illustration is from a photograph of the sterling silver cup which A. N. Broadhead presented to the Lakeview Rose Gardens Bowling Club. The rose growers and the carnation men organized rival teams last winter and after a sharp contest the rose growers carried off the trophy. Preliminary practice is now being indulged in and it is expected that a tournament for the possession of the cup will be begun on the club's own alleys about Januarj^ 1, three teams competing.
