Semi-detached outside toilets at Ty Nesaf & Ty Bach farmhouses, Bardsey Island, seen from Ty Bach's garden. The Welsh term for an outside loo is "ty bach" or "little house". Lord Newborough built several 'model farms' for his Bardsey Island tenants 1870-75. Artist & writer Brenda Chamberlain lived on Bardsey 1947-61, mainly in Carreg farmhouse; she described her experiences in the book Tide-race published in 1962.
