Another theory advanced was that such apparatus could be used to actually fight a forest fire. This theory has been put into practice and judging from the following extract from a letter received from Mr. Henry Sorgius, Manager of the St. Maurice Forest Protective Association proved very successful: "During the past season we used the pumping outfit at four difTerent forest fires and it has more than made up for its cost.
