Henry III of France is said to have been considered as a husband for Elizabeth I of England. This image shows the two at a ball in France. The artist is unknown. Elizabeth I was Queen of England and Ireland from 17 November 1558 until her death in 1603. She was the last monarch of the House of Tudor. Henry III was King of France from 1574 until his assassination in 1589, as well as King of Poland and Grand Duke of Lithuania from 1573 to 1575.
