Half a dozen messengers on bicy- cles followed and distributed copies of an original receipt of an order cabled to a London florist. On another vehicle there was a Santa Claus distributing yellow mums from large boxes marked "The Louise Flower ; And there were in the parade horses bearing charming women riders. Tour magnificent steeds bore garlands of flowers and the young ladies each car- ried a largo mum. The Monday following this parade a flower show opened at the Louise Flower Shop. Many varieties were shown the public, each bearing its same on a tag. The most popular flower was the yellow rose. Souvenir de Claudius Pernet. The one unanimous criticism on the show was that there were no flowers for sale. A thousand invitations to this show were issued, aside from those enclosed in bills and the like, and the result was a magnificent attendance. The next week it fell to the Louise Flower Shop to furnish the Marines with 1,119 bouquets of yellow and red inal and effective publicity. His latest bit is a 16-page pocket-size booklet, "Paul's Practical Plant ; The introduction on the first page tells the booklet's mission well: Kverj'body knows that when a "flivver" "kiiooks," It has to be taken care of; and yet II lot of folks seem to expect a tree or
