160125-N-MV308-001 SIGONELLA, Sicily (Jan. 25, 2016) Chief Naval Aircrewman (Mechanical) Eric Nordstrom, assigned to the “Golden Eagles” of Patrol Squadron (VP) 9, conducts preflight inspection on a P-3C Orion maritime patrol aircraft at Naval Air Station Sigonella. VP-9 is forward deployed to the 6th Fleet area of operations and is assigned to CTF 67, responsible for tactical control of deployed maritime patrol and reconnaissance squadrons throughout the European and African areas of responsibility.
