Berlin-Wilmersdorf. Fehrbelliner Platz 2. Nazi-era building built 1935-36 by Architect Otto Firle Architect Otto Firle designed the five-story steel frame building on the eastern end of the Fehrbelliner Square for the North Star Life Insurance company (Nordstern Lebensversicherungsbank). The monotony of the shell limestone curved facade was relieved by the raised window casings. The main entrance is located in the centre of the anterior façade and has a cantilevered canopy resting on two flagpoles. Relief sculptures by Waldemar Raemisch still exist on the Hohenzollerndamm end of the building but the architectural features by Arno Breker at the opposite end were removed. The foyer of the building is Art Deco style. It presently houses Berlin's Senate Department for Urban Development and the Housing (Senatsverwaltung für Stadtentwicklung und Wohnen)
