String Session: Sino-American Harmony. Aboard a Coast Guard-manned transport at sea near India, Chinese Air Cadets and Coast Guardsmen are attracted to Coast Guard Combat Artist Joseph P. DiGemma, of Brooklyn, and his violin. It is a session of Chinese-American harmony, as two Chinese musicians play on their two-stringed instruments, called Hu-ching. At right is Coast Guardsman Arthur Witt, seaman first class, of 1255 40th Street, Brooklyn. Artist DiGemma, who is a specialist third class, lives at 7312 Narrows Avenue in Brooklyn. The Chinese Air Cadets are en route to the United States.
