Case III.—Aged thirty-one; female; admitted January 3, 1900;died Januarys 6, 1900. Family History.—No history of tuberculosis or neoplasm. Motherhas general oedema and asthma. Previous History.—The patient had scarlet fever at twelve yearsof age, without sequelae; has been troubled with attacks of diarrhoeafrom time to time, never, however, confining her to bed. Attacks lastabout one week and then are checked by treatment. Present Illness.—
