5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (May 31, 2017) An MH-60S Seahawk attached to the "Tridents" of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 9 flies next to the guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea (CG 58). Philippine Sea, part of the George Bush Carrier Strike Group, is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations designed to reassure allies and partners, and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
