Hetook a great interest in the enterprise, and soonbecame the active member of that board; and to hishabits of tborougbness and excellent taste we arelargely indebted for the admirable structure thatadorns the village. He represented the town in the Legislatures of 1810and 18;i6. He always took an active interest in military mat-ters, and was a major of the militia in 1812.
