The Death of King Saul, at the Battle of Gilboa against the Philistines in 1007 BC, Northern Israel. There are conflicting accounts of Saul's death. In one the defeated Israelites flee from the enemy and Saul asks his armour bearer to kill him, the armour bearer refuses, and Saul falls upon his own sword. In another Samuel, an Amalekite found Saul leaning on his spear after the battle and delivered the coup de grâce.
