Surely, if they have proved that thebovine bacillus has infected children, and if even asingle child is infected, it shows that man is not outsidethe range or possibility of infection by the bovinebacillus. These Commissions have shown that the organismwhich grows with difficulty when isolated—that is tosay, separated—from the bodies of children is of thebovine type. Further, they have shown that the mostvirulent organism to be obtained from animals is thebovine bacillus, that the bovine bacillus is much morepotent, powerful, and severe when compared with thehuman bacillus. The bovine bacillus has been shownby the German and by the British Commissions tobe infective to man. I can tell you of some caseswhich are practically equivalent to experimentalcases, such as we see inside the laboratory. There is acase on record in Geneva, where the daughter of amedical man suddenly developed peculiar symptoms.
