Sgt. Joseph Long Jr. shows Staff Sgt. Vincent Kelly Jr. a diagram of a wound he received in April during combat in Vietnam. A .45 caliber round entered below Long's right eye, passing through his sinus cavities and lodging in front of his jaw bone. The round went unnoticed until X-rays were taken and later removed aboard the USS REPOSE. Sgt. Long received a trophy with the bullet mounted on top from the ship's crew members.
