Lipa, Philippines. July 17, 2023 : Fruit pickers harvest rambutans between two cyclones. Tropical cyclone Dodong has just caused damage but new typhoon Egay is already forming. Fruit vendor Jayce Manalo explain:"Due to climate change, every storm destroys our fruits which become unsaleable. So even if many rambutans are not yet ripe, we harvest in houses as many as possible before the next storm". The archipelago is still experiencing the southwest monsoon (habagat). In 2022/2023, the average farmgate price of rambutan is the highest ever recorded here. Credit: Kevin Izorce/Alamy Live News
