The after-treatment is of great importance : the foot should be kept at rightangles to the leg by means of a plaster of Paris bandage, applied at once, and retaineduntil the wound is thoroughly healed. If the wound heals by first Intention thepatient can leave his bed in two or three weeks. At a later stage it is advisable tomaintain the good position of the foot by means of a Scarpas shoe. 11.
