The small harbour at Christiansø. Bornholm, Denmark. Christiansø is a tiny (22 hectare) island a couple of hours sailing out of Gudhjem. In 1684 king Christian V a seafort on the island, which is still owned by the Ministry of Defense. No cars are allowed on the island, which have about 100 inhabitants, living in the old romantic stone houses, built by king Christian for his soldiers. The island functioned as a military installation until 1855 and today there is no navy ships, only peacefull yachts. Some 60 - tourists visits the island per year. Everything on the island - from buildings to even the vegetation is listed. At the background, læeft side, the even smaller island, Frederiksø, which is connecdted to Christiansø with a short bridge.
