Hansen inthe Logan Temple. KELLER, James Morgan, one of the first settlers of Mink Creek, Oneida county, Idaho, was born April 6, 1827,on the island of Bornholm, accepted the gospel and was bap-tized in 1852, and emigrated to Utah in1853, locating in Brigham City, Box El-der county. Later, he was called tosettle in Mantua, Box Elder where he resided for a number of years,passing through many hardships andflerhting Indians. His crops were alsodestroyed by grasshoppers and otherinsects several times. Later, about1863, he went to Mink* Creek, Idaho, onan exploring trip, and, finding it a de-sirable place to live in, he settled therewith one of his families, and he has re-sidede there ever since. When ElderKeller first settled in Mink Creek, thesnov/ would some times fall to the depthof six feet. The nearest settlement wasFranklin, which was about twentymiles distant. Bro. Keller has been apioneer in the fullest sense of the wordand has assisted in transforming thewilderness into a garden spot. He hasraised a large family, having had fivewives, and is the father of forty-twochildren. At the present time he has102 grandchildren.
