The antiquary in examining theseruins can but be impressed with theirstriking analogy to the earliest monu-ments of the human race in the valleys of Western Asia. The corridors andwalls of the inner chambers are coveredwith sculptures and hieroglyphics. It isnot impossible that a truer understand-ing of the significance of these inscrip-tions may make the world better acquaint-ed with the character and activities ofthe aboriginal races of our continent. ]:?? :>.n -\ sri_.
