Between 4th and 22nd May 2015, Dyfed Archaeological Trust, in collaboration with the University of Sheffield undertook a second phase of excavation at St Patrick's Chapel, Whitesands Bay. The chapel and early medieval cemetery, probably dating from the 6th to the 11th century, was first excavated in May 2014 after winter storms exposed a number of burials from the side of the sand dune, prompting the excavation.
