Comet ISON (C/2012 S1), negative image showing separated filaments in the tail. This comet was discovered on 21 September 2012 by the International Scientific Optical Network (ISON). ISON will reach its closet approach to the Sun (perihelion) on 28th November 2013. As it approaches the Sun it will brighten, and could become visible even during the day. Photographed on 15th November 2013 from Kenya.
