Otherwise there is not the slightest simi-larity between the Passage Jouffroy and the Piccadilly would be as idle, also, to liken it to such places of public resortand fancy-article dealing as the Victoria Arcade at Hamburg, theGalleria Vittorio Emmanuele at Milan, or that formidable andsomewhat forbidding passage—I forget its name— on the Lindenat Berlin, in which, if I remember aright, there is one of the mostcomical and one of the ghastliest wax-work shows in Europe.
