Moses is approached by God on the Horeb mountain; Moses at the burning bush. Moses stands with a hose in his hand on the Horeb mountain (his shepherd staff has changed in a hose). He has pulled out his sandals out of respect for the sacred ground and he looks at heaven. His herd of sheep graze on a slope. The inscription in Latin on a cartouche refers to the vision of the burning blackberry bush but it is not actually visible.
