The seed should be sown in hotbeds in early spring, and the seedlings transplanted later to the open ground. 8 inches apart, in rows from 12 to 15 inches apart. For a winter supply, sow seed in the open ground in early spring, and thin the seedlings until they have room for development, or transplant them as above.
