A Roman Venus with Silenus, 2nd/3rd century Pottery, ochre coloured clay, partially with red brown colour coating, partially with remains of sinter. The front side of the hollow figure group cast in a mould, the nipples modelled by hand, the back coarsely smoothed, small circular firing hole. Aphrodite wearing a tall headdress consisting of a flower wreath and a headband, her left arm placed around a shy Silenus who bashfully hides his crotch. Height 42 cm.
