Fort George is located on the edge of Ardersier along the Moray Coast and not far from Inverness. It was built after the battle of Culloden to keep us rebellious Highlanders under control, but the changing political landscape of that period ment it's cutting edge defenses were never tested in battle. It probably remains one of the most complete and well preserved examples of Georgian military architecture in the British Isles.
