Belarus Embassy, Groot Hertoginnelaan, The Hague, The Netherlands. The Hague. Wednesday 21 April, 2021. For exactly one-year, peaceful civilian protests in Belarus have been violently crushed. Over 600 innocent civilians imprisoned and tortured. Criticism of the government is not tolerated. President Alexander Lukashenko regime has had him in power since 1994 and now the longest dictator in Europe. Today’s demonstration was intended to be symbolic and not large in number and the names of the 600 are read out. The pathway of flags bears the names of those persecuted and is situated opposite the Belarus embassy. To ends today’s protest, a member of Amnesty International accompanied by a protester delivered a letter of condemnation to its ambassador.
