The 36th Airlift Squadron, out of Yokota Air Base, Japan, is the only active-duty C-130 unit in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. Its Airmen and aircraft provide tactical airlift, which is a vital part of the Pacific Command's crisis response capability. Pacific Air Forces Airmen are ready to respond anywhere in the region within hours of tasking. They lead the way with low-cost, low-altitude airdrop initiatives and through subject-matter exchange programs have been able to share the procedures with partner nations.
