The moor "Egedalsmosen" in spring. The landscape Egedalen stretches from Aashøj, 104 meters above sea level and the highest point in Gjern Bakker to the west in the direction of Gudenaaen. It was originally formed by the ice during the last ice age about 120,000 to 11,000 years ago, where meltwater from the ice edge was washed away from the higher plateau at Gjern Bakker down over the plain. The meltwater has worn down the hills and brought the material out into the outer part of the area, at the bottom towards the river Gudenaaen. In the intermediate area, a heath and bog landscape later emerged. Trees and shrubs grew on the slopes, while heather spread in the lower areas around what had developed into peat bogs. -------- Die Landschaft Egedalen mit "Egedalsmosen" wurde ursprünglich vom Eis während der letzten Eiszeit vor etwa bis Jahren den Hängen wuchsen Bäume und Sträucher, während sich Heidekraut in den unteren Bereichen um das herum ausbreitete, was sich zu Torfmooren entwickelt hatte. -------- Landskabet Egedalen med "Egedalsmosen" er oprindeligt formet af isen under sidste istid for ca til aar siden. Traeer og krat voksede på skraenterne, mens lyngen bredte sig i de lavere omraader omkring det, der havde udviklet sig til toervemose.
