St Catherine's Chapel on Chapel Hill - Abbotsbury, Dorset.

St Catherine's Chapel is situated on the south coast above the picturesque village of Abbotsbury on Chapel Hill in Dorset. Built in the fourteenth century, it is dedicated to St Catherine, the patron saint of spinsters and therefore was a popular place for the local spinsters to pray for a husband. Due to it's location in providing a naviagational aid for sailors crossing Lyme Bay, it survived the Dissolution of the Monastries, unlike the monastry in the village.
