A sabre for a sapper,circa 1840/50. A heavy,saw-backed blade with fullers on both sides,and a double-edged point. "Manufacture Klingenthal" and "Coulaux aine & Comp." are etched above the ricassos along with a crowned "B"(inspector between 1838 and 1860)and "G". Brass hilt with cock's head pommel,smooth,bevelled grip,and lion heads on the quillons and finials. Length cm.
