Portrait of RICHARD DURNFORD (1802–1895) Bishop of Chichester 1870 to 1895 (1867 Archdeacon of Manchester - 1870 elevated to the Episcopate of Chichester.) Durnford House at Brighton College was named after him. a founder of the Oxford Union (Union Debating Society and its 1st president - He also erected new churches at Thornham, Rhodes, and Parkfield.
