Stethoscopicexamination made at intervals was negative. The tempera-ture had varied for three months between 38° and examination showed a very opaque and some-what extensive abnormal shadow, in the anterior, lowerand internal parts of the pulmonary field. This shadow continued almost without a line of demarca-tion the median shadow and descended as far as the dia-phragm.
